I seem to have been born lucky , well lucky in most aspects but slowly I'm beginning to think that many times its just more than luck. Suffering from the "Sunny disposition" syndrome or SDS just makes you feel overly optimistic about things even when stuff seems to be heading to obvious disaster. Too much of a good thing is bad and the same goes for optimism... People tend to see you as being cocky and over confident which is never a good thing.
Off late I've been learning to cover my bases with a foot planted down flat. Call it being over cautious but it seems to be working fabulously for me. The tendency for people to bluff their way through gets a lot tougher when you are aware of things that go on around you. I've come up with classifications for the types of people who try to convince you that they are being truthful while they are trying to get you to do work for them
i) The Loafer
ii) The Dumb
iii) The really dumb
iv) The Highly proficient
v) The "He/She said so"
My favorite of all of these is undoubtedly the last one mainly because they get caught while telling you their story which although may be the truth. They always want to push away the responsibility of action away from themselves so they bring in a scape goat of sorts to take the fall. However this plan is flawed when the scape goat happens to be a common friend
I had one of these "He/She said so" types call me at 2 in the morning( which by the way is an awesomely unearthly hour to call) and the best part is that they actually asked me if I was sleeping when they called... Hmm interesting ... 2 am ... go figure .. Of course i wasn't sleeping, I was chewing off my toenails due to the lack of a nail cutter ... What the hell ??? Obviously I was sleeping genius.
The genius of a person who called me wanted certain tell tale pictures of their's to be removed from an online album of mine because they didn't want precious mommy and daddy to see what their precious baby was up to when they were out in the "real" world. Now I so happened to know that the pictures they were referring to were pretty specific in nature. There were certain things that they said that did not match up. They were too vague in the beginning and then out of nowhere came intricate facts, I smelled something fishy.
I decided to dig a little deeper and sent them the following message...
"I would like to know which pictures
people find offensive and also if possible
the names of the people who find them
offensive. I will change the privacy options
only for those particular pictures. Until I
receive such notice the album will remain
unchanged"

Now comes the interesting part, as I had hoped for they came up with the "he/she said so" story which I unfortunately cross checked and unluckily for them the "he/she" denied ever having said anything about the pictures. In fact the "he/she" felt that the pictures were real nice. Hee hee gotcha suckers.
Its always good to cover your bases especially when you are thinking about lying. Not that I condone lying but while you are at it you might as well be good at it.
